The KLPC Low Goal League Tournament 2 was cancelled yesterday. With a waterlogged field and incessant rain, there wasn’t really a choice. It was stating the obvious and putting everyone out of our collective misery.
My Klarita team mates made a quick exit. Ameer Jumabhoy left even before the announcement, back to his hectic worldwide schedule. Neville Stewart flew home to Perth last night. Ali Reda drives back to Singapore today and to Saudi next week.
The Kelantan Polo team made a passionate appeal to play. We would have loved to, but there really isn’t anything anyone can do about this weather.
For me, it is back to reality – and making it as much fun as we can at KL Academy of Polo.
This week:
I’ve already started giving the polo ponies more time in the paddocks. They will get a good rest before we start up again next season.
I’ll get to do some traveling as well. I’ve been asked to attend an IGEQ Coaching Conference in Vienna, which is being held at the Spanish Riding School. That’s going to be another off the bucket list.
Then it is Argentina at the end of November. I’ll be there in time to watch the semi-finals and final of the Argentine Open, at Palermo. We still have places available in the KLAP tour to Argentina, so if you fancy playing six days of polo in the Argentine ‘high’ season, please DM or email me at ztpete84@gmail.com. It’s not too late to sign up.
The #1 polo field closes for annual repairs and restoration. KLAP will WIC, FRIC and SIC when we can till the S&B closes in mid-December.
Then there are our other non-field December and January KLAPlans:
Join us for some fun!
