I’m going to be coaching a limited number of students in a new intake of KL Academy of Polo’s POLO 101 course in October till early November. It is a 16-lesson course designed to take a confident rider from other equestrian disciplines and get them started in the game of polo. It is a course that has proved to be successful, with many graduates that are now regular polo players.
The POLO 101 course would be conducted on KL Academy of Polo’s polo ponies or on member’s own ponies. POLO 101 consists of 16 lessons in total, held three times a week, all conducted at the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club (KLPC), in Ampang Hilir, Kuala Lumpur. Twelve of those lessons are mounted and will include:

- Fitness for Polo
- Posting Canter
- Riding Off
- Hooking
- Stick and Ball
Three lessons will be on “Woody,” the wooden horse, learning the technique of polo strokes. There is also one classroom lesson on the rules of polo, player positions and roles.

- Members of Kuala Lumpur Polo Club (KLPC) or KL Pony Club: RM2,800
