The Polo Field

“The horizon is the edge of your polo field,
The earth is the ball in the curve of your polo stick.
Until you are blotted out of existence as the dust,
gallop and press on your horse for the ground is yours.”

Nizami Ganjavi, Nizami Ganje’i, Nizami, or Nezāmi, whose formal name was Jamal ad-Dīn Abū Muḥammad Ilyās ibn-Yūsuf ibn-Zakkī, was a 12th-century Persian Sunni Muslim poet. Nezāmi is considered the greatest romantic epic poet in Persian literature.
