Julian and Aimann’s handicaps go BOOM!

The Selangor Polo Club (TSPC) announced mid-season handicap revisions effective 1st May 2022, and both Julian Lancia and Amirul Aimann have been rewarded with double promotions, the first Malaysian-based players to be raised twice in a season, in over twenty years.  Both KL Academy of Polo players have been rewarded with a rise from -2 to -1 effective 1st May, and from -1 to 0 from 1st October.

Both Julian and Aimann starred in the 1st Malaysia Youth Polo Tournament.  They were joint MVP’s at the TSPC Low Goal Tournament immediately after that.  Aimann and Julian were also on the winning team at the Battle of the Sexes.

With summer holidays coming up, Julian will intern at the Calgary Polo Club, in Alberta, Canada, while Aimann is hoping to get a start in the 6-goal Triple Crown series at The Selangor Polo Club.

Congratulations to both these young players.

Here is a list of all the handicap changes by TSPC:

Imran Moiz also gets raised to 1 goal at the end of October. At 18 years of age, Imran is the oldest and most experienced of this trio of young stars at the Selangor Polo Club.  Imran is the youngest ever player in the RMPA International League, and has already been a winner of the Thai Polo Masters.  Imran also played in the 2019 SEA Games B Division, winning a silver medal.

It is very exciting to see these young players develop.  We hope to see Imran, Aimann and Julian playing together as a young ‘Rebels’ team soon.  I wonder who the fourth player will be. Nala Bosveld also would have been in contention for that place, but for an unfortunately injury.  Raja Ken was also raised to -1.  And recently we have seen Suleiman and Arman Moiz emerge as talented young players.   Whoever gets the final spot with the new Rebels, the future looks bright for Malaysian polo.
