Jacintha is Her Name

My sister, Jacintha, gave a fabulous concert at the Esplanade Recital Studio in Singapore yesterday.  Natasha and I brought the kids down for the performance.  It was the first time they had seen their Aunt on-stage.  And what a performance it was!

Ja is a consummate stage performer, the ultimate live artiste.  Even her audiophile albums have that live element that make them intimate and real, like she is performing in your living room.

It felt like a comeback, so long has it been since she last gave a live performance.

So many friends gathered, not just to support it, but because they have waited years for Jacintha to do this again.  It was a full house of friends.

And it was worth the wait.

For my kids, it was an occasion to remember, and to wonder if they have those musical genes somewhere in them.  For me, it was a fantastic evening to catch up with old friends from school, from my NS in the RSN Band, from Ja’s TheatreWorks days.

Vintage stuff.

Life is long, indeed.

Thanks to Kalyani Kausikan for the performance photo.
