Christmas Carols: Alex Abisheganaden

We lost Dad this year. His music lives on.

This is from a home recording made around 1980 on a cassette tape. It was a personal recording for Svein Engeseth, who kept it in Norway for 30 years. It was digitised in 2011, remastered by Reezal Abu Samah of Leonard Tan’s Beansproutz studio in Kuala Lumpur. Thank you, my friends, for helping to save my father’s music.

Dad was awarded a Cultural Medallion for his work in music. A multi-instrumentalist that also sang and played the double bass, ukelele, trumpet, harp, and was self-taught on the piano and piano-accordian, he was best known as a classical guitarist. He founded the Classical Guitar Society of Singapore and NUS Guitar Ensemble, GENUS.
