To be run in all Asian Equestrian Federation member countries, the 2019-2020 AEF YRs/JRs Show Jumping Challenge will be jumped according to the plans I design, in each participating country. It is a two-round competition. Each country winner would earn an invitation to meet and participate in a final competition, ridden on borrowed horses from a host country. The host country of the final hasn’t yet been appointed, but they have to be able to provide quite a few horses!
Standards can really differ, and even if it is a 1,15 cm class, I have to be careful to find a happy median standard so that plenty of Asian countries will be able to run the competition.
Going to build the final somewhere in Asia is exciting. There is a big possibility it will be in a country I have never designed in before, or even been to. I’m really looking forward to that experience.
My thanks to Dato’ Major Yap, the Chair of AEF’s Jumping Committee, for proposing me. I’m sure I am going to have fun designing these courses.
