I was fortunate enough to be given the task of course designing the AEF Young Rider / Junior Show Jumping Challenge, and I was also looking forward to course designing the final to be held in Taipei in April.
The Coronavirus outbreak has managed to muck that up.
Fortunately November is not as busy a time of year for me, as the polo season in Malaysia will be over by then. It is time that I usually use to catch up on course designing around the region. I usually get to build a CSI-W World Cup show in Thailand.
So in a way, having the AEF Young Rider Final rescheduled to November actually suits my time schedule better.
Many horse shows and polo tournaments will be affected, not only overseas, but even closer to home. In Malaysia we may not be as stressed about COVID-19, but there are tournaments and horse shows who are already talking about how it affects their shows.
I wonder if my CD seminar and NEC show there at the end of March will also be affected?
At the moment I am still scheduled to course design a show at in Perth, Western Australia, at the beginning of March.
I hope it doesn’t catch a virus too!
