My handicap was put down to zero by the RMPA at the handicap meeting at the end of the season. I was one of three players moved down. I wasn’t disappointed, because it was a change that I had asked for.
I asked the handicappers to consider that Dato’ Mohamed Moiz and I would both turn 60 next season. I asked them to consider their own ages, and if they would consider lowering our handicaps from 1 to 0. Then Dato’ Mohamed and I left the room. When we returned, they had agreed we were zeros.
I haven’t played off scratch since I was a teenager. I’m looking forward to being a little more competitive next season.
Much of that, of course will depend on my horsepower. My focus has changed and I will work on producing my young Malaysian-breds. Winston has to become a proper polo pony, and I will start work on Brookster too.
New handicap and new challenges!
