There is this thing going around Facebook, where someone nominates you for a 10-Day Equestrian Family Challenge.
When you are nominated, every day you are select an image from a day in the life of horse ownership that has had an impact on me and post it without a single explanation, then nominate someone to take the challenge.
That’s 10 days, 10 equestrian photos, 10 nominations and 0 explanations.
I knew I would get nominated one day, and had had a little think about what I might post. Finally I got finally nominated by Abdul Salim.
I thought it would be a bit of fun to look back. To limit it to just 10 photos is a contest in itself!
I don’t think it should be limited to Facebook, so I will post my 10 here too.
Day 1 is on top.
This is Day 2:
Warming up Motonui SEA Games 1983. This is a horse that was so unpredictable that everyone before had been eliminated by him. And after me, everyone else too.
This is Day 3:
1995, on the polo field at the Singapore Polo Club. This is in a 1.40m Grand Prix ( 2 rounder) riding Chakwal. I rode four horses that day for two double clears and two 4-faulters.
Day 4:
Racing against a 4.2L Ford Grenada on the polo field at the Singapore Polo Club, in 1986. We beat it. Twice.
Day 5:
Winning the SEA Games Eventing in 1995 with Sumana Rajarethnam, Cathy Oh and James Ng. It was over a decade after BTSC lost the cross-country course in the valley. But training with Cheski in New Zealand before Chiang Mai did the trick.
